Day 3 – Wednesday

Waiting in the Middle

“I will take my stand at my watchpost . . . and look out to see what he will say to me.”

Habakkuk 2:1 (NKJV)

Between Habakkuk’s complaint and God’s solution lies a space we all know well: waiting. Not passive waiting, but watchful waiting. Faithful waiting. Expectant waiting.

Habakkuk climbs the watchtower—not to escape the chaos, but to gain perspective. He chooses to look above the noise, not be swallowed by it. Today, our “watchpost” might be Scripture, prayer, worship, or simply stepping away from the constant noise of media and fear.

Waiting is hard because it feels like nothing is happening. But in Scripture, waiting is often where God does His deepest work. Waiting shapes character. Waiting strengthens trust. Waiting teaches us to listen.

And God promises Habakkuk something we need today: “The vision awaits its appointed time… if it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come.” (2:3)

God’s timing is not slow—it is perfect.

Closing Prayer:

Lord, teach me to wait with faith, not frustration. Lift my eyes above the noise and help me listen for Your voice. Give me strength to trust Your timing. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
