“The Deadline Day — Casting What We Carry”

“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV)

Today is April 15th—the traditional deadline for filing federal and state income tax returns. Even though an extension is always available, this date still carries emotional weight. It’s the day circled on calendars, the day many feel pressure, and the day responsibilities come into sharp focus.

For some, everything is already submitted. For others, today is the final push. And for many, filing an extension brings relief while still acknowledging unfinished work. No matter your situation, April 15th has a way of stirring anxiety.

Peter’s invitation is perfectly timed: cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

Not manage it. Not hide it. Cast it.

Throw the weight onto the shoulders strong enough to carry it.

God cares about the stress you feel today. He cares about your financial concerns, your deadlines, your decisions, and your peace. He is not distant from your responsibilities—He is present in them.

Whether you filed early, filed today, or filed for an extension, let this be the moment you release the pressure and rest in God’s care. The deadline may be today, but God’s peace is timeless.

Closing Prayer:

Lord, on this day that carries so much pressure, I cast my worries onto You. Thank You for caring about my responsibilities and my peace. Give me calm in the midst of deadlines and confidence in Your faithful care. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN!
