When the Air Gets Heavy

Matthew 11:28 (NKJV)

Before a summer storm rolls in, the air gets heavy. The humidity rises, the sky darkens, and everything feels thick and slow. You can sense the change before you see the storm.

Life has its own version of heavy air. Sometimes you feel the pressure building long before anything actually breaks. Responsibilities pile up. Deadlines tighten. Relationships strain. Your spirit feels the weight of something coming.

Jesus invites us to come to Him before the storm hits—not just after. He offers rest in the heaviness, not only relief after the downpour. His rest is not escape; it is strength. It is the ability to breathe deeply even when the air feels thick.

If the “air” around your life feels heavy today, don’t wait for the storm to break. Bring the weight to Jesus now. Let Him lighten your spirit before the first drop falls.

Closing Prayer:

Jesus, when the air around me feels heavy, draw me into Your rest. Lift the weight I carry and steady my heart before the storm arrives. Help me trust You with every burden. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
