The First Signs of Life

“The flowers appear on the earth . . .”

Song of Solomon 2:12a (NKJV)

In any workplace, progress often begins quietly. A small breakthrough. A productive conversation. A fresh idea. A moment of clarity. These are the “first flowers” of Spring—small but meaningful signs that something new is growing.

The earliest flowers of the season are delicate, yet they push through the soil with surprising courage. They don’t wait for perfect conditions. They simply respond to the new season. In our work lives, God often brings renewal the same way—not with dramatic change, but with subtle beginnings.

Maybe today you notice a shift in your attitude. A spark of creativity. A sense of teamwork returning. A problem that suddenly feels solvable. These small signs matter. They are evidence that God is moving.

In a workplace culture that often celebrates big wins, God invites us to celebrate small beginnings. Spring teaches us that growth starts quietly, and that early signs are worth noticing and nurturing.

Closing Prayer

Father, help me recognize the small signs of life You’re bringing into my work today. Give me eyes to see progress, even in small steps, and a heart that celebrates Your quiet work. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
