As we begin the first full week of November, we find ourselves adjusting to the rhythms of a new season. The recent time change, shorter days, and approaching Thanksgiving, all remind us that life is filled with transitions. This week, we will explore God’s faithfulness through change, His light in darker days, the value of daily faithfulness, the strength found in waiting on Him, and the gratitude that grows when we recognize His hand at work in our lives. May each day’s reading encourage your heart and draw you closer to Christ.

Adjusting to the Change
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, PROMISE and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28 (NKJV)
Yesterday’s time change gave us a bonus hour. While many people welcome the extra sleep, our bodies often need a few days to adjust. We may still feel sluggish, wake up at unusual times, or find ourselves tired earlier in the evening. Even when the clock changes by only an hour, our internal rhythms take time to catch up.
The same principle applies to our spiritual lives. We often wish growth could happen instantly. We want immediate strength, quick answers, and rapid maturity. Yet God’s work in us frequently unfolds through gradual adjustments. He patiently guides us through seasons of change, allowing us time to adapt while He shapes our hearts.
When your body feels a bit out of sync after the time change, let it remind you of God’s grace. He understands our limitations. Psalm 103 tells us that He remembers we are dust. The Lord never demands perfection from us. Instead, He invites us to bring our weariness to Him and receive His rest.
Today, rather than pushing yourself relentlessly, embrace God’s provision for renewal. Physical rest and spiritual rest are gifts from the same loving Father. As your body settles into the new schedule, allow your soul to settle more deeply into His presence.
God is not rushed, and His plans for you are not dependent upon perfect timing on your part. He is working faithfully, even during periods of adjustment.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for understanding my weaknesses and limitations. As my body adjusts to the change in schedule, help me find true rest in You. Teach me to trust Your timing and to rely upon Your strength rather than my own. Renew my heart, mind, and spirit today. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN!
