Resting Without Feeling Guilty
“He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.”
Psalm 23:2 (NKJV)
Many believers struggle with rest. We feel guilty when we slow down, as if pausing means we’re failing. Yet Scripture tells us that the Shepherd makes us lie down. Rest is not laziness—it is obedience. It is part of God’s design for a healthy, balanced life.
Daily responsibilities can drain us emotionally, physically, and spiritually. When we push ourselves without pause, we lose clarity, patience, and joy. But when we rest in Christ, we regain strength. Balance requires intentional renewal, not constant motion.
Resting in the Lord means more than taking a nap. It means quieting your soul long enough to hear His voice. It means stepping away from noise and letting Him restore your peace. It means trusting that the world will keep turning even when you stop for a moment.
Today, give yourself permission to rest. Let the Shepherd lead you beside still waters. Balance grows out of renewal, and renewal grows out of rest.
Closing Prayer:
Lord, help me rest in You without guilt or fear. Restore my strength and renew my spirit. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN!
