REMEMBER!

“Oh, remember that my life is a breath! My eye will never again see good.”

Job 7:7 (NKJV)

On this date, September 11, 2001, we do remember what happened in New York City. Terrorists struck the twin towers which, in essence, brought them to the ground.

I have to say, as a native Texan, I was working that day as a support agent and helping a lady by phone dealing with a printer issue. In the process of helping that lady, she sighed rather loudly and and with a teary voice said the twin towers have just been hit by an airplane! She said, “OH MY GOD!”

I immediately did a search on my computer and saw the news report. Folks, allow me to say this, as a Texan, I immediately became an American first! We have been attacked by terrorists! I shared in the sorrow of the lady on the phone, but I also shared the sorrow of those who were working in those two towers. The news had spread fast at our call center and calls stopped coming into the queue.

Everyone was in amazement! At that moment, I wasn’t a Republican or a Democrat, a Texan or a New Yorker, but I was an American and my unknown brothers and sisters in New York were hurting. I quickly said a prayer for those who were trapped in the two towers. They had not fallen yet, but it was evident there was death in the offing.

Ladies and gentlemen, yes, I do remember what happened as if it was yesterday. However, that was 25 years ago and the image is as plain to me as though it was yesterday. Well over 3,000 people were killed that day.

I do not want to minimize the twin towers, as the Pentagon and Pennsylvania were secondary targets and there was devastation there as well. This was not just “something happened that day,” nor did “New York deserve 9/11.” We remember that day today and will always remember it.

What still disturbs me is the people up in the towers who saw no way out and decided, rather than burn to death, they decided to jump to their deaths! Yes, I remember 9/11.

I want to say this, as Job said, “. . . life is a breath” and it can be snuffed out at any moment. That being said, I plead with you, if you have not received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do that NOW! You do not know when you will be faced with death! Please DO NOT delay, call upon Jesus right now to save you from your sins and come into your heart. Pray that right now!

May God bless you!
