14 “That we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—”

Spiritual maturity is not reached in a moment—it is cultivated through daily surrender, steady growth, and a deepening relationship with Jesus Christ. Throughout this week, we will explore what it means to grow up in our faith, to feed on God’s Word, to bear the fruit of the Spirit, and to walk with confidence and endurance. May each devotional strengthen your heart and encourage your steps as you pursue the fullness of life in Christ.
Spiritual maturity begins with a holy dissatisfaction—an inner realization that staying spiritually “young” is no longer enough. Paul reminds us that God desires His people to grow beyond spiritual childhood, where we are easily swayed, unsettled, or confused. Instead, we are called to “grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ.” Spiritual maturity is not about age, experience, or how long we’ve been in church. It is about becoming more like Jesus in our thinking, our responses, our priorities, and our love.
Growing up in Christ means learning to speak the truth in love. Immature believers may speak truth harshly or avoid truth altogether. But maturity blends conviction with compassion. It also means stability—no longer tossed around by every new idea, emotion, or circumstance. Mature believers anchor themselves in Christ, allowing His Word to shape their worldview and His Spirit to guide their decisions.
This growth is intentional. It requires time in Scripture, prayer, fellowship, and obedience. It also requires humility—the willingness to admit we still have much to learn. The good news is that spiritual maturity is not something we achieve alone. Christ Himself grows us as we surrender to Him daily.
Closing Prayer:
Father, help me grow into the fullness of Christ. Teach me to speak truth in love, to stand firm in Your Word, and to walk in humility. Shape my heart, my thoughts, and my actions so that I reflect Jesus more each day. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN!
