“6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Anxiety is not a stranger to any of us. It creeps in quietly, settles heavily, and often feels impossible to shake. As believers, we sometimes feel guilty for being anxious, as if worry means we lack faith. But Scripture never condemns us for feeling anxious—it invites us to bring our anxiety to the One who can carry it.
This week, we will walk through five devotionals centered on anxiety—what it is, how God meets us in it, and how His Word leads us toward peace. You are not alone in this journey. God sees the weight you carry, and He cares deeply about the condition of your heart.
Paul writes, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” This is not a command to pretend anxiety doesn’t exist. It is an invitation to redirect it. Anxiety thrives in isolation, but it weakens when brought into the presence of God.
Notice the progression:
- Prayer brings your heart before God.
- Supplication expresses your need.
- Thanksgiving shifts your focus to God’s faithfulness.
- Requests place your burden in His hands.
And what follows? “The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” God doesn’t just give peace—He guards your heart with it. His peace becomes a shield, a fortress, a covering.
As we begin this week, ask the Lord to open your heart to His truth. Let Him speak into the places where anxiety has settled. He is gentle. He is present. And He is ready to carry what you cannot.
Closing Prayer:
Father, as I begin this week, I bring my anxious heart to You. Teach me to trust You with every burden. Guard my mind with Your peace and steady my spirit with Your presence. Help me walk closely with You each day. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
